Evaluation Services

Our evaluation staff is comprised of clinicians and interns who are highly-trained in administering and scoring assessments used to diagnose individuals experiencing a variety of symptoms. Emerge offers a variety of evaluation services that can address behavioral issues, emotional problems, learning and academic concerns as well as the long-term effects of traumatic brain injuries. Evaluations are a critical component that leads to the identification of the problem(s) that you or your loved one are experiencing. Evaluations not only identify the problem, but also provide other useful information including: exposing strengths and weaknesses, providing recommendations for successful treatments that can be used to remedy the problem, and monitoring treatment effectiveness and progress. We can provide evaluations for children as young as 12 months old to adolescents and adults. Our clinicians strive to make evaluations a positive experience for everyone involved and work to meet the needs of the individual and families.

Among the issues that can be addressed through evaluations:

  • Problematic behaviors
  • Language delays
  • Emotional concerns
  • Learning difficulties including dyslexia
  • Attention deficits, hyperactivity, and impulsivity
  • Social difficulties
  • Memory problems
  • Sensory issues
  • Motor development
  • Adaptive and self-care skills

Neuropsychological Evaluation

A neuropsychological evaluation includes a profile of an individual’s cognitive, executive functioning, memory, attention-related issues, emotional and behavioral strengths and weaknesses, as well as diagnoses as warranted. It also provides comprehensive recommendations for remediating deficits and strengthening areas of need. Emerge clinicians strive to make evaluations a positive experience for everyone involved and work to meet the needs of the individual participating in the evaluation.

Psychological Evaluation

A full psychological evaluation includes comprehensive assessment of the individual’s cognitive, behavioral, social, and emotional functioning. These assessments help to understand the nature of the individual’s strengths and difficulties, provide appropriate diagnoses and make recommendations for the remediation of symptoms. Both Dr. Helena Huckabee and Dr. Anna Kroncke are trained to administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) which is considered the Gold Standard in diagnosing autism spectrum disorders. Because we evaluate for traumatic brain injury and PTSD, this service may helpful for veterans as well.

Forensic Evaluation

Forensic evaluations are offered for individuals that may need services related to legal matters. This may consist of a neuropsychological or psychological evaluation, depending on the nature of the presenting problem.

Learning Evaluation

A comprehensive learning evaluation can be added to a neuropsychological or psychological evaluation to rule out reading, math and writing disabilities. Individual assessments in academic areas can also be provided a la carte at a client’s request.
